You get to know the students really well, you can teach all subjects around a social studies or science topic, you can take your students on trips without having to worry about them missing someone else's class. Now I teach around a bell and I would much rather go back to 30 students, all day! Luck you!Mrs. Colburnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05717519284869648227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7366946097179083776.post-27551902586334797292016-01-24T10:51:54.735-08:002016-01-24T10:51:54.735-08:00Our junior highs and middle schools have always gi...Our junior highs and middle schools have always given 3 periods each day for the 6, 7, and 8th graders. Each teacher got an AM nd a PM Core. I taught that way for 41 years and loved every minute. You really get to know your kids and the flexibility to plan lessons is wonderful!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03644973136466745988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7366946097179083776.post-89653673251849963142016-01-23T07:15:56.098-08:002016-01-23T07:15:56.098-08:00In my district, 6th is at the middle school and on...In my district, 6th is at the middle school and on the bell. I think it's wonderful having the opportunity to be with your kiddos all day long. I taught 5th grade math to the entire grade level and while it was nice prepping for one subject, I felt like I didn't get to bond with the kids as much. Going back to 2nd, I enjoy it so much more being self-contained. Wouldn't have it any other way!

Haley
Owls and Lessons, Etc.Owls and Lessons, Etc.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08957640327130279528noreply@blogger.com
